Do
It Like This!
Content Outcome:
1. To give instructions in the target language.
Process Outcome:
1. To demonstrate organizational skills.
Task:
The student will present step-by-step instructions
for performance of a task using appropriate command forms.
Think of an activity that you know how to do very well, then imagine that
no one in the class has ever heard of this activity. Your goal is to explain
the various steps that a person has to follow in order to successfully
accomplish the task. Because we are all novices, a visual aid will be
necessary in order to fully understand the commands you'll be giving.
Requirements:
1. The oral presentation must include eight logically-ordered
steps which are necessary to follow in order to complete
the task. Becase you are giving instructions, the use of a positive informal
command form in each step is required.
2. The poster you create must list steps in 1-8 logical
order. Remember that the audience will be using your poster for reference,
so neatness and presentation (is it big enough for us to see?) are important.
During your oral presentation, your poster will be displayed in front
of the class. You may refer to it while speaking, but do not read from
it! Your oral presentation should be more developed that your poster....I
will be listening for relevant and interesting details that are not included
in the visual aid. If you want to actually demonstrate the various steps
of your presentation, this "extra effort" will be considered.
