Rubric for Oral Evaluation

Content

    3    Complete. The speaker clearly conveys the business and the advertisement. Details that are relevant and interesting are included.
    2    Generally complete. The speaker conveys the business and the advertisement, but does not provide adequate details.
    1    Incomplete. The explanations are not clear. Details are nonexistent or random and irrelevant.

Pronunciation

    3    Phonetically correct. Native-like ability.
    2    Generally comprehensible with occasional errors that do not inhibit communication.
    1    Many errors that make the pronunciation incomprehensible.

Fluency

    3    Effortless and smooth. Native-like ability.
    2    Smooth, but perceptibly non-native.
    1    Frequent halting and fragmentary delivery. English is used.

Vocabulary
 
    3    Excellent use of vocabulary, expressions, and new words appropriate to the topic.
    2    Adequate use of appropriate vocabulary. Some new words are included.
    1    Inadequate or incorrect use of vocabulary. Few or no new words included.

Syntax

    3    Very few grammatical errors. Errors are self-corrected.
    2    Some minor errors in structure and/or grammar which do not interfere with communication.
    1    Several grammatical errors that begin to affect communication.
