Standards I. Content Standards
Tasks Audition: The students will sing a piece of music as a small group of four singers, one on a voice part, that we have rehearsed in class. The students will be given the tonic chord and the starting pitches. The students will sing the piece either accapella or with accompaniment as the situation dictates. Self Evaluation: After the audition the student will evaluate their performance using
the Audition Score Sheet which is identical to the form the teacher is
using to evaluate the audition. The student will turn in their form and
it will be attached to the teachers form. A brief discussion may
follow if their are any large discrepancies between the two forms. Purpose: While individual auditions are very accurate for charting a students strengths and weaknesses as well as progress they do not tell us as much about how they sing in groups. Most of a students time will be spent singing in groups as part of our choir program.
