On Assignment: Taking Photos & Creating Prints

 

Standards

  • Use enlargers to produce black and white prints
  • Demonstrate proficiency in photo terminology and equipment
  • Students will identify and analyze processes and problems encountered in photography
  • Students will show responsible care of equipment
  • Students will exhibit efficient time management skills
  • Demonstrate knowledge of visual composition
  • Students will follow the safety guidelines

    Objectives

  • Learn how to look for specific subject matter and capture it in a visually interesting manner
  • Learn how to mount photos
  • Learn how to evaluate your own photos
  • Learn how to create a perfect print

 

Assignment

All assignments and self-evaluation rubrics must be included in the comprehensive binder.

  • Take 2 rolls of black and white film
  • Process the 2 rolls of black and white film in class
  • Create 2 contact sheets
  • Print 6 perfect prints and mount them
  • Complete a self-evaluation on each print
  • Complete a journal entry
