Standards

  • Use enlargers to produce black and white prints
  • Demonstrate proficiency in photo terminology and equipment
  • Students will identify and analyze processes and problems encountered in photography
  • Students will show responsible care of equipment
  • Students will exhibit efficient time management skills

  • Learn how and why to use a filter to improve a print

 

Assignments

All assignments and self-evaluation rubrics must be included in the comprehensive binder.

  • Print the same image from the first perfect print two more times - Use a #2 and a #5 filter
  • Complete a worksheet on filter information
  • Complete a journal entry

Using Filters Assignment Sheet

Assignment:
Using your negative that you produced your first enlargement from and print it two more times. Print it using a #2 filter and a #5 filter.

Criteria for your first enlargement:

  • Values - correct exposure time, print has blacks and whites
  • Clarity - print is in focus
  • Print quality - no spots, scratches, negative care
  • Processed correctly
  • Used #2 and #5 filter
  • Labeled correctly with time, filter #, and aperture setting
