Revising a Floor Plan (Student Handout)

Scenario: You have just finished the meeting with the Jones to discuss what revisions need to be made to your original design. Being the good architect that you are, you have saved the original floor plan on a disk so you do not have to make another floor plan. Using your notes that you took in the meeting and the original criteria listed below, redesign the floor plan to meet the needs of the Jones family. The pressure is on now because Mr. Jones would like to break ground for his new house in only a few short weeks.

Criteria:

  • Must have four bedrooms
  • House must be completely wheelchair accessible
  • Three car garage
  • Master suite with master bedroom
  • Full basement
  • One or two story house
  • Fireplace in family room
  • Big kitchen

Mr. Jones also has informed you that other companies are still doing a design for him, so the sooner you can get your revised floor plan in, the better.
