Task overview: The students will use their bill of materials as well as other resources to calculate a bid. They will then present the completed bid to the rest of the class and explain each facet of the estimated bid.

Bidding and Estimating (Student Handout)

Scenario: All your hard work has come down to this final decision. How much do you want to make on this design? You must submit a bid to Mr. Jones on what it will cost, including materials, overhead for your company, and how much you would like to make on the job. Once you have the calculated bid, you must submit all completed blueprints and the bid to Mr. Jones. Remember to make the bid competitive to the other companies. The following is what Mr. Jones will be looking for on the final bid.
